Scar care is critical from day 1 after giving birth. New scars need to be nurtured and protected as they go through their own healing journey. Decreased pain, sensitivity and aesthetic outcome are all goals that can be achieved by taking the time to look after the scar. A simple combination of Micropore and Scar Science for the first 1-6weeks after birth can make all the difference.

Micropore is widely used by healthcare practitioners in the first 6 weeks of scar development. This tape protects the new scar from premature exposure to the outside environment. Inflammation in reduced and remodelling of collagen fibre can take place in a calmer more nurturing environment. By protecting the scar the new tissue is not overstimulated leading to further pain and discomfort. Optimal healing occurs and infection risk is also lowered.
ScarScience® is a topical product that has been developed by a team of Plastic Surgeons. ScarScience™ is a unique scar management programme formulated to improve the outcome of a scar. ScarScience® addresses the key issues in scar management:
- Collagen maturation
- Moisture & hydration

- Physical support with microporous tape
